No-Sew Fabric Bow Garland -Handmade Christmas Series

I’m loving this understated little garland, and it couldn’t be easier to make. It’s made with only string and fabric, but it will add a whimsical charm just about anywhere.

Supplies you will need:

String
Scissors
Fabric (or ribbon)

Instructions:

Great news, you can make your garland any length and size you want. You can make cute little bows, or big, puffy ones. It’s all up to you!

I began by making slip knot loop about three inches tall at regular intervals in my string. As long as your loops are the same size and your knots are the same distance apart, your bows will end up even spread on the garland.

I ripped my fabric into strips about 6 inches long. I love to rip my fabric because it make a frayed edge that I think is rustically charming. But you can always cut your fabric with scissors or pinking shear, or eve just use some ribbon!

Next I folded my strips of fabric into thirds, with the middle section overlapping. The fabric needs to overlap by at last half an inch, because this will hold your bow in in it’s shape.

As you can see from the two photos below, I pinched my fabric in the middle, then down on the sides.

The I just popped my bow into the loops of string that I have ready. Since they are slip knots, all I have to do is pull them tight!

And, just like that we’re done! So super-duper easy, and just adorable. This is a Christmas garland, but you can imagine how cute this would be for birthdays or baby showers. Adorable!
